Abstract
This study ainıs to discııss how to teach short stories and what their contribution could be to language classes. Thİs a sample te.xt D. H. La vrence’s short story Odor of Chrysanthemums has been analized in the light of two theoreticians - Robert Scholes and H. L. B. Moody. It is found that not only in teaching short stories, but also in teaching other genres these reading strategies can be used and contribute to students’ language skills and abilities.
