Abstract
The acquisition of the skill of reading comprehension plays an important role in the students’ obtaining a lot of other information. The findings of research carried out reveals that students at different class levels can be taught various reading comprehension skills through direct instruction. In this study, the focus is on how direct instruction can be applied in the teaching of reading comprehension skills, and the stages of application of the direct instruction method in single action story reading comprehension designed for story grammar, are explained.
