Abstract
In this article, a survey of the main principles and definitions of democracy and the close relationship between democracy and educatin is presented through a philosophical perspective. The impact of democratic movements in Turkey on the emergence of national education philosophies and principles of curriculum development and curriculum design is examined in terms of constitutional changes.
