Abstract
The language of a nation carries a great weight on transferring the unique values and richness from one generation to another. The Mass media, besides users of that language, has the responsibility of passing on the language richness to the next generation. Especially, usage of the foreign originated vocabulary, mispronounced words, non-Turkish alphabet letters and inaccurate sentences used on the mass media, which has a great effect on people’s lives leads people unconsciously use that language in their daily lives.
The aim of this paper is to determine prospective teachers’ views on Turkish language used in written and spoken forms in news, entertainment programs, and commercials on mass media.
