The main purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of a parent training program on parents having children with behavioral problems and the depression levels of parents. Pretestposttest control group design was used in this study. In the study, there were eight parents in the experimental group and eight parents in the control group. To gather data, “Child Behavior Checklist/4-18” and “Beck Depression Questionnaire” were utilized. In the experimental group, “parent training program” was applied each week for seven weeks. For the analysis of the data, the experimental group’s pretest scores were compared with “Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test” and for the significance of difference of scores, “Mann Whitney U Test” was used. Findings of the study indicate that as a result of parent training program, there is meaningful decrease in children’s behavioral problems, while the depression levels of parents were found to decrease meaningfully.
