Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the depression, anxiety and stress levels of the university students who had different self compassion levels (low, medium, high). The case study was composed of total 523 university students of which 240 were female and 283 were male and chosen by random set sampling method among the university students who were studying in different departments. In order to measure the self compassion levels of the students Self Compasssion Scale which was adapted into Turkish by Deniz, Kesici and Sümer (2008) and to measure the depression, anxiety and stress levels of the students Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASÖ) which was adapted into Turkish by Akın and Çetin (2007) were used. Results of the study showed that there were significant differences in the average scores of the depression (F=96.724, p<.001), anxiety (F=52.501, p<.001) and stress (F=90.518, p<.001) levels of the students with respect to their different self compassion levels (low, medium, high).
