Güvenç'in belirttiği gibi, "Bilim insanoğlunun soru sormasıyla başlamıştır denilebilir. Dünya ve evren üzerinde sorulan geçerli sorulara verilen güvenilir cevaplardan doğa bilimleri; insanoğlunun kendisiyle ilgili geçerli sorulara verdiği güvenilir cevaplardan ise sosyal ve beşeri bilimler doğmuştur."
