Abstract
The present research aimed to explore the mediating and moderating role of sensation seeking in the relation between self-concealment and life satisfactionin adolescents. Research datawere collected using the Turkish version of Self-concealment Scale, Brief Sensation Seeking Scale, and Satisfaction with Life Scale. These scales were completed by 403 adolescents aged 13–15 years. Results demonstrated that self-concealment had a negative relation with life satisfaction; whereas sensation seeking was positively related to life satisfaction. The result of the regression analysis demonstrated that the association between self-concealment and life satisfaction was suppressed by sensation seeking. Furthermore, the relationship between life satisfaction and self-concealment was moderated by sensation seeking. According to this result, life satisfaction is indirectly influenced by self-concealment via sensation seeking in adolescents.
