Abstract
The purpose of the study is to compare Mantel-Haenszel (MH) and logistic regression (LR) techniques which are used to determine the differential item functioning (DIF). In accordance with this purpose, Maths and Science sub tests of Secondary Schools Exam (SSE) were used. It was examined whether the functions of test items varied according to gender and school type. In the light of the findings, it was found that there was a low level of accordance between MH and LR methods in Science and maths sub test according to gender and school type.
